Project: Sports Buttons Application for Facebook
Emerge helped the Chicago Tribune hit it out of the park with online readers via our Facebook Sports Button Application. With an arena full of buttons to trade—supporting (or ribbing) players for every major Chicago sports team—Emerge hooks the Trib into the vast community of fans in the online social network. Facebook users get to root, root, root for the home team by displaying their buttons on their profile pages or sending them to friends long after the final out and miles farther than across the playground.
The Sports Buttons campaign makes an association between the Tribune with the strong feelings sports fans have for their ball clubs. And once that connection is made, we use the power of social media to spread it virally all across the web.
